St. John Bosco battled through its toughest game of the season for a historic victory over Orange Lutheran on October 29. The Braves gained their record breaking 20th consecutive Trinity League victory, edging out Lutheran 31-12.
It was a strong second half that powered Bosco to victory. After trailing early in the game, the Braves found the endzone in the second quarter and took a 7-6 lead into the break.
Storming out of the gates to start the third quarter, Bosco tacked on 14 points to take a 21-12 lead into the final stanza. In a great display of both offense and defense, the Braves scored 10 points while shutting out the Lancers to close the game out.
As always, Sean McGrew was a joy to watch, carrying the ball 21 times for 137 yards and two touchdowns. Quentin Davis made some huge plays to set up some short rushing scores, completing 15-of-19 for 219.
This victory puts Bosco at 9-0 on the season with just one regular season game remaining. Currently 2nd in the DigitalSports National Football Rankings, the Braves are in stellar form and look nearly impossible to stop.
St. John Bosco next hosts Servite on November 6th at 7:00pm.
